The Cave Man Regimen Acne Cure

Caveman Regimen for Skin

Have you ever wondered that for most of you, your acne is caused by internal factors rather than external ones? We’re not talking about a simple zit or a pimple that pops out on our skin when we spend too much time out in the polluted environment, we are talking about the acne that is serious and dangerous and that stays on our skin forever.

This is a common observation that as soon as we hit puberty, our face starts taking this ugly, monster look that is covered with nothing but pimples and not to forget; all sizes and kinds of pimples. For some lucky people, the acne disappears in a couple of months or a year or so but for some of us, this acne haunts us for a good old time. Here, is where “Caveman Regimen” comes in.

What is Cavemen Regimen?

The theory behind this idea is fairly simple and can be proved using scientific ideas. When we hit puberty, our skin develops something that is termed as “acid mantle”. This acid mantle is basically a protective covering around our skin that is made up of sebum and sweat. This is a God gifted protection layer that protects our skin from bacteria and other harmful elements that can harm the skin. It’s acidic in nature with 5.5 as it’s pH.

This means that even if you don’t use all sorts of expensive products on your face in the hopes of getting rid of that acne, your natural skin care will take care of that acne.

When we use too many much artificial products, you are stripping your skin of the natural oils and acid mantle that it produces to protect your skin. That is why your face is the only area where you get acne and not on other body parts. These skin care products mess around with your face’s natural PH and produce acne by disturbing it.
How to use Cavemen Regimen?

You probably would have gotten the idea by now. The Cavemen Regimen requires you to throw away all those beauty products and use nothing on your face, not even water. Sounds creepy, right?

For some people, using water during Cavemen Regimen is perfectly fine but the actual idea doesn't allow water because tap water itself has many chemicals that affect your skin. It also dries up the skin and then forces you to use a moisturizer. Therefore, logical thinking is to not use even water.

As you stop using water, you will notice that after some time your face will develop some bits of dead skin. This dead skin is the layer that will protect your underneath new skin from the outside factors.

After a month or so, you can remove that dead mask with a wet cloth or cotton for skin as perfect and smooth as that of a baby. What are your thoughts?

7 Foods to Help you Burn Calories and Lose Weight

Trying to lose weight? Well if you are, please do not stop eating. That is the worse thing that you can do. Starvation diets can result in serious complications and disrupt the natural harmony of the bodily functions. It is thus not a healthy option to drastically change your diet by eating too less or not eating at all. Moreover, you are bound to regain the weight you lose by the end of the diet anyway, so let's talk about sustainable lifestyle changes that will produce long-term effects rather than short-term efforts than go in vain.

The best way to lose weight is by exercising and lowering your calorie intake but there are other ways too. Knowing which foods can help you burn fat, can do wonders for your weight loss goals. Add the following foods in your diet and you will look and feel healthy and slim like never before:

1. Citrus fruits

The best time to have citrus fruits is during breakfast as not only do they reduce fat by making great low-fat substitutes, they provide you with revitalizing energy to kick-start your day as well. Citrus fruits provide the body with quick energy to enhance its metabolism. Additionally, they are also rich in vitamin C, which is a perfect example of a fat burning agent as it boosts your fat metabolism.

Fruits are excellent choices for fat burning because they are natural and are packed with minerals and vitamins and also have a high water content. Thus, they have a very low calorie content and enhance metabolism by reducing cholesterol levels.

Some examples of citrus fruits include grapefruit, oranges, lemons, kumquats, tangerines, tomatoes, cherries, plums, raspberries and grapes. Mix these fruits up and make a fruit salad making your breakfast more lively, colorful and tasteful. You can also try to maintain a ‘citrus fruit only’ breakfast if you are aiming at burning fat around your waist and hips.

2. Vegetables

Many vegetables except for sweet potatoes, potatoes and yams contain very low calorie content and also contain vital vitamins and minerals that are healthy for the body and aid in quick fat loss. If you are fan of potatoes, cook them or bake them with their skin as their skin is a rich source of fiber.

Include vegetables like spinach, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, lima beans, artichoke, cabbage, cucumbers and carrots in your meal plans as they are packed with minerals and contain fewer calories at the same time. Vegetables do not contain fats and are low in carbohydrates. Cucumber makes an excellent salad component as it contains low calories, low carbs and fat, and a very high water content.

Cook your vegetables in a way that would preserve their goodness. Therefore, it is advisable that you steam, boil or stir fry them to in healthy fat substitutes such as olive oil, canola oil, soybean oil, sesame oil or sunflower oil.

3. Oats

Oats make a healthy breakfast because they are richer in insoluble fiber than any other nutrient. The fiber allows you to feel fuller and more satisfied with your meal, thus suppressing you hunger for a long period of time. Consuming food with high fiber content is an excellent way of burning fats from your body.

4. Lentils

Also known as edible pulses, these foods give you a sense of satiation and are also low in calories and rich in minerals. They are also rich in proteins and amino acids and are widely consumed in countries like India, in the form of lentil soups or broths. Ground lentils can also be used to make delicious foods, so be creative and come up with your own healthy recipes! They are rich in fiber and contribute to the reduction of bad-cholesterol levels, thus improving heart health as an added bonus!

5. Poultry

If you are a non-vegetarian, you were probably waiting for something meaty to kick into this list. Poultry is an excellent meat item as it is low in carbohydrates, fats and rich in proteins. Proteins are good for weight loss as they require a greater expenditure of energy to be digested and stored. Red meat, however, is a bad fat contributor; therefore, it is ideal to replace it with lean meats as much as possible. Consume lean cuts and avoid the skin as it is has a high fat content.

6.Fish

Fish is an excellent source of ‘good fats’ such as omega 3 fatty acids and omega 6 fatty acids, which are excellent weight loss agents. They also contain a low calorie, fat and carbohydrate content and are rich in essential proteins. Salmon, trout, mackerel and tuna are excellent fish varieties that are rich in good fats and make excellent meals for lunches and dinners.

7. Nuts

Almonds and walnuts make great snacks to satisfy your hunger between meals. A fistful of nuts is a perfect substitute for faster varieties such as junk foods, chips, burgers, hot dogs and fries. Almonds and walnuts are rich in healthy fats. Keep in mind that eliminating healthy fats from your diet just because they are ‘fats’ will increase your weight rather than the opposite.

And last but not least, remember to drink plenty of water. Water is the only consumable substance that actually does not have any calories. Although not counted as food, it is an excellent weight loss supplement. Water has many functions in the body that aid in fat loss. It helps in metabolizing food products and also the draining out of harmful toxins and food remains from the body. Having water regularly can suppress hunger and thus, help in fat reduction.

Acrylic Nails - Are they Safe?

If you love going to the nail salon to get your nails done, you are not alone. Millions of women go out daily and weekly for a manicure and pedicure as a way to pamper and beautify their hands and feet.

I like to get my nails done with acrylic or gel, especially in the summer time. I can't speak for everyone else out there but I have noticed that doing my nails too often severely damages my real nails underneath which causes me to wonder just how healthy the process really is.

One time I ended up with yellowing on my nail beds that turned into an infection. I didn't know this until I went to go in for my fill and when the nail tech started to file my nails I screamed. They felt like they were on fire!

I literally had to go home and come back two weeks later when they were healed. When I came back the tech explained that I should wear gloves when I wash the dishes at home because the water seeps under the fake nail and germs and fungus can develop!

That made me really think about this process. I don't even know what the side effects are from these chemicals and whether or not it was leaking into my blood stream.  I freaked out and took a break for a few months and started to let my own nails grow.

Growing my own nails was never the problem. I am a born nail biter and doing the acrylic kept my fingers out of my mouth. I could not stand looking at my chewed up finger nails, so short and boring and eventually gave in.

For most of us, beauty always wins. I gave in and started doing my nails again.I have to admit that I truly believe there is nothing nicer than a pair of nicely manicured nails with bright tips or polish. It's a girly thing and it makes me feel like a princess.

I learned painfully from my nail infection and it gave me the rude awakening that I truly needed. As the saying goes..."Too much of anything is never good for you" This is so true. I was going to get my nails filled for so long I forgot what my own nails looked like!

If you are on  ladies who are addicted to the nails, try giving it a break for a month or so in between fills and let your nails heal and grow naturally free from the acrylic and the gel products.

I have been doing that lately and have managed to let my own nails grow out. They look healthy and my hands still look great to. My general rule of thumb now is to do them every once in awhile and take a break. I have even started paying the extra money and rather than going for just a fill, I have them take the entire tips off and start from scratch. That way I am sure they can grind off any fungi that could be hiding under there and put on a fresh set. It's much safer that way. Unless you have a microscope, you don't have a clue what can be going on under there so it's best to play it safe.

You can be beautiful but beautiful and healthy is better. If you absolutely can not imagine life without a set of manicured nails, then I urge you try learning how to do your nails yourself at home. This way you can monitor each finger and fix it as needed to prevent infection.

Acrylic isn't always the way to go. There are gel nails that are supposed to be safer and there are also at home kits with just regular  nail polish where you can add designs to make your nails look like a professional did them at a salon.

You can purchase many of these "at home nail kits" online to do your own nails at your leisure. You can choose from traditional colored nail sets or do it yourself french manicure sets that look like you stepped out of a nail salon!

Play it smart and tone down on the nails in the fall and winter months and then head back to the salon for spring and summer. In the long run, it gives your hands a break, helps you save money and most important of all, it's the healthier way to go!

How to Get Longer, Fuller, Brighter Lashes

I have very short eyelashes and it did not matter what I did, I could never find a mascara that made my eyelashes look long or full.

Five years ago, I found and fell in love with the Maybelline Thick Lash Mascara in the darkest black color that came in the red and black casing.

Sometime last year they changed the look of the bottle and the wand and it never seemed to work the same for me. It's been a year now and I haven't been able to find anything at all that gave me any definition to my eyes.

I went to Walmart last week and tried out the new
Eye lights Bright Mascara by Cover Girl and was pleasantly surprised. It made my eyes stand out but they were still not long or thick. I decided to get creative and I first put on a layer of Lengthening Mascara and then a layer of the Eye Lights Mascara and voila! I am back in business and love my new long lashes so much, I haven't even worn lipstick or eyeshadow all week. My eyes pop and I love it!Get long lashes that are not only thick but bold also.

Benefits of Makeup Remover

Makeup remover is one of those products a lot of people don't use and never considered to use because they just don't know what it is. I to have to admit, that I have been experimenting with makeup here and there over the last 20 years and have probably used every skin cleanser, toner, or soap every used to wash my makeup face but not a make up remover!

To me, I didn't really know what it was or that it existed. When friends would tell me about it, I thought they were just using soap or plain water. Well I was wrong. Just the other night I slept over at a friends and I was curious to see her nightly beauty routine.

She took a warm wash cloth and squeezed the makeup remover on it and smoothed it all over her face. She did this two times. Then she took  the same cloth and ran it under cold water and patted it all over her face to close her pores. It was amazing. Her face looked like a different shade! I asked her what she was using and it was makeup remover.

The makeup remover double cleans to remove the makeup from your face not leaving any residue behind. Then you are free to use a toner or just go to bed as is. She didn't even need to put a night cream on as the makeup remover also moisturizes the skin.

I tried it to and I liked it and my face did feel a whole lot cleaner. It really does make sense after all to use makeup remover. Wearing makeup for an 8 hour work day at the office is long enough and it's nice to go natural every once in awhile. Only, once in awhile that is...Can't live without my makeup. Love it!!!

How to Become A Model

Many people dream of having a modeling career- livings as a high profile symbol of beauty and enjoying a life of excitement, fame and luxury while earning a great deal of money.

If you are one of those seeking out this career, there is one thing that you should never forget-behind the glamor, glitz and high income lies the reality that this field is challenging, highly competitive and relatively restrictive with regards to acceptable physical characteristics even though this is slowly changing.

In the not too distant past, only a narrow range of people were deemed model quality, which meant being tall, thin and angular, presenting body types and images of beauty attainable by only a narrow segment of the populace. For those considering modeling, today's industry portrays a much wider diversity of body types and widening standards of what is considered beautiful opening doors to people who would have never had a chance in this career years ago.

Healthy Appearance, Features and Symmetry

Regardless of your body type and modeling aspirations, there are certain characteristics all models should bring to the table. Perhaps the most important is being healthy or giving the appearance of health. Height, weight, complexion and hair quality, head to toe body symmetry and other subtle subjective features are taken into consideration.

Types of Modeling

Catwalks Models are perhaps the highest profile models, displaying fashions while strutting along catwalks in high heels amongst the glare of flashing cameras. Body types most successful in this category are tall (over 5"8),thin and small to moderate breast sizes.Glamorous and lucrative as field, it is also very grueling and demanding.

Underwear models can be of varying sizes, yet generally tend to have larger breasts and slender hips. However, more and more plus sized people are being seen in today's fashion magazines, so don't be discouraged if you are not stick-thin and small breasted.

Plus sized models reflect the growing number of curvaceous and fuller bodied people who have been made to feel less than beautiful in the full range of desired traits, don't give up on your modeling career dreams. There is a robust field of modeling involving body parts, hands, feet, and hair as well as other body features such as eyes, ears, etc.

Head Shots, Body Shots and Comp Cards

Agencies will insist you provide them with pictures of yourself in order for them to judge your modeling potential for the truth is, the camera does not favor everyone, and the camera doesn't lie. Depending on your body type and photogenic characteristics, the camera can actually add weight to your appearance. Head shots and composition cards which are a collection of different shots on one page, are also required at auditions and should always be near at hand in case they are requested. Recommendation: invest in a professional photographer and shun snap shots, even if agencies say snap shots are acceptable. Generally, one good booking will more than pay for the cost of a professional shoot and head shot printing.

So what else can you do? Research reputable modeling agencies. The key word here is reputable. There are many businesses advertising as modeling agencies that are in truth nothing more than scams seeking income streams from the uninformed via offers of expensive, never ending modeling classes and other too good to be true promises. Reputable agencies never charge you a fee for representation, their income comes from you booking you - wherein they withdraw anywhere from a 7-15 percent fee. If you want to take classes, ask your agency where to take proven classes.

Be professional. Whether the project is large or small in scale, if you are wanted for an audition or are booked both client and agency have invested time and money in you and expect you to perform. This means always being punctual, arriving prepared if there is no makeup artist involved, knowing your lines and not causing problems. Perhaps the most important trait you possess other than physical characteristics is your reputation which once damaged can almost never be prepared.

These five areas of consideration will help you better define your modeling aspiration and provide guidance in realization of your modeling career goals. There is a lot of information we have not covered here, so please do more research before entering this career or any other.

Dreaming of being a model? Go for it. Contemporary models reflect a range of sizes, heights, skin and hair colors and there is every expectation that diversity in the modeling field will continue expanding. Therefore never fret, that you aren't that thin super model type; with hard work, determination and a bit of luck, you never know how far you can go in your dream of being a model.
